METCO, Inc

METCO, Inc was incorporated in 1990, with a basic core business of supplying quality components to the starter and alternator manufacturing industry. METCO’s quality program became ISO certified in 1997, a designation proudly maintained today.  Seeking to service customers to a level not commonly available, METCO begin proprietary manufacturing of components required by those customers that couldn’t live with the “standard” off the shelf quality. The business model developed and over time METCO  expanded its portfolio to include sintered bronze and stamped bushings, steel stampings, wound springs, carbon brushes, alternator fans, axial fans for the wind power industry, DC Motors for many industries, and many more items. METCO and Standard Starter Drive begin a relationship early on as METCO became the major component supplier to the Standard operations. When the conversation begin regarding the sale of Standard’s assets METCO was the clear choice. In August 2014 the Standard operation in Redford MI was relocated to METCO’s Kokomo IN facility where it continues to manufacture and provide quality new and remanufactured starter drives for most industries and applications
