PRODUCT DESIGN SPECIFICATION

Product design information (i.e. drawings, specifications, test procedures, standards, bills of materials etc.) shall be maintained to ensure that products are fabricated, inspected and tested to the latest requirements.

Where applicable, original approved product samples, including component parts and finished assemblies, shall be tagged with the part number and other identifying information and made available to manufacturing and inspection personnel. Tagged samples will be upgraded as designs and specifications.

Suppliers to Standard Starter Drive must notify the company prior to making any changes in raw material, purchased parts, or process changes that may affect the fit, function, durability, or visual appearance of any product or component part supplied to Standard Starter Drive.

The supplier must furnish a deviation request along with any applicable samples for Standard Starter Drive personnel to review and authorize before any shipments incorporating these changes are shipped to Standard Starter Drive.

Product design information shall be maintained to ensure that products are fabricated, inspected and tested to the latest requirements.

PRODUCT DESIGN SPECIFICATION AND PROCESS CONTROL

Standard Starter Drive shall establish a procedure for the receipt, distribution, and control of the latest drawings, specifications, and tagged samples. This system will assure that the latest revision of these drawings and specifications are available for use at all times.

The latest issue or revision of drawings or specifications shall be requested by the purchasing department and be made a part of any purchase order for component parts or other material.

Our Engineering Change Order (ECO) system will be established to ensure that any required changes to drawings or specifications will be properly reviewed by all concerned departments before they are approved or implemented.

The Engineering Change Order form, prepared by the Quality Control Department, will list all pertinent information. After completion, the form will be circulated to all concerned managers for their approval or disapproval. No changes will be implemented unless there is a 100% consensus of the concerned departments or there is a resettlement of disagreements by the top management.
All new drawings and drawing changes will be approved by the Engineering Manager prior to release.
